The eye catcher in your home lift - with Evelina Kroon

Interview series with the creators of Aritco DesignWall

Our ambition is that your Aritco HomeLift should enhance the experience of your home and be an eye-catcher you don’t want to hide away. That’s why design and individual choices are important cornerstones.

At Aritco you can choose from several different “design walls” for your home lift. In a series of interviews, we present the creators of the Aritco DesignWalls you can choose from, and ask the same three questions.

Meet Evelina Kroon

We meet designer Evelina Kroon, who has created three of the motifs, one of which is in collaboration with Aritco’s chief designer Alexander Lervik.

Evelina works with a graphic yet eclectic esthetic that evokes traditional feminine craftsmanship. Kroon is a graduate of the Swedish Arts and Crafts Association, lives and works in Stockholm, and her creations can be found at auctions held by Svenskt Tenn and Bukowski, among others.

One of the most important elements in Evelina’s work is tape, which is repeated in all three of her motifs.

What was your inspiration when you designed Geometric Classic, Geometric Blue och Geometric Pink?

“Geometric is a collaboration between me and Alexander Lervik, where we have been inspired by classic retro patterns from, for example, wallpaper and worktops. Here we have simplified this in a modern way.

Geometric Blue and – Pink are built on the same principle as classic flooring, but where I played with the scales and created unexpected but pleasant colourways. I want them to work over time and not feel time-bound like in fashion.”

Name three words that describe art for you.

“Spice, expression, longevity.”

Why is design necessary?

“For me, design is development. It may not be a need that is absolutely necessary, but it meets the need and desire for quality improvement,” describes Evelina.
