Singapore Design Week 2025 gathered designers, architects, and innovators from around the world to explore how design can shape more sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready cities. We spoke with Jason Yeap, Technical Sales & Design Consultant – Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei at Aritco, about why this year was the right time to join, how visitors responded, and what stood out most.

Aritco Inspires at Singapore Design Week 2025
Singapore Design Week 2025 highlighted the future of living, and Aritco was there to demonstrate how home lifts can be part of that vision

Why did Aritco choose to participate in this year’s Singapore Design Week?
“Singapore Design Week is one of the most important platforms in Asia, and this year also marked the city’s 60th anniversary,” Jason explains. “It celebrates the role of design in shaping a sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready city.”
This was Aritco’s first time at Singapore Design Week, a decision driven by the company’s growth in the region. “Over the past two years our sales have been growing steadily, so we felt this was the right time. Singapore is a hub for Southeast Asia, and the trend is really growing here.”
That regional context is significant. “In Southeast Asia, families often live in multi-generational households,” Jason explains. “Unlike in Europe, where children often move out, here families stay with elderly parents. That means lifts are in high demand because they allow people to remain in the same home comfortably as they age.”
Can you tell us a little about Aritco’s exhibition?
For its debut, Aritco brought a premium model of the Aritco HomeLift to the exhibition, featuring the “Berlin” design concept. “Berlin is a dynamic city, known for creativity, alternative culture, and innovative architecture. That’s why we selected it as the theme for our installation,” Jason says.
The lift was fully functional, giving visitors a chance to step inside and experience the smooth ride. “Even though it was just a short distance, people loved it. Their eyes lit up, they took videos and photos, and it really caught their attention.” With its Scandinavian design and sustainable features, the product resonated especially with Singaporean interior designers.

What trends and highlights stood out at the event?
“The first was the Design Futures Forum, which brought together about 25 speakers from interior design firms to explore the intersection of design, technology, and sustainability. The second was ‘Emerge@FIND,’ showcasing emerging design from across Asia in a dedicated exhibition area.”
Across the event, sustainability was a recurring theme. “Design is a powerful tool to address social and environmental challenges,” Jason reflects. “Traditionally, lifts were seen as taking up too much space. Our solution is different. It saves space and opens new possibilities for interior design.”
He also noted exhibitors presenting smart home systems, modular furniture, and customizable solutions. “That aligns very well with what we’re doing at Aritco, because our HomeLift integrates seamlessly into modern interiors.”
From a live HomeLift experience to dialogues on sustainability, technology, and wellbeing, Singapore Design Week 2025 reinforced Aritco’s mission to combine accessibility, design, and sustainability in ways that meet global and local needs. As Jason sums up: “Events like this remind us of the responsibility we have to create solutions that genuinely improve people’s lives.”
