This year, Aritco has taken an important step in its sustainability journey with the release of its first sustainability report. While the report is voluntary and not tied to any specific framework, it reflects a clear commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. It is both a reflection of what has been achieved so far and a roadmap for the future.

Aritco’s 2024 Sustainability Report charts a path for long-term impact
Aritco’s first sustainability report offers a clear view of what’s been achieved so far and the actions shaping the road ahead.
Why now?
Over the past year, Aritco has been working to put a comprehensive sustainability strategy in place. The report offered an opportunity to share progress with both internal and external audiences by documenting key achievements, identifying areas for improvement, and outlining ambitions for the years ahead.
“We’ve accomplished a lot, but it’s easy to forget the progress when you’re in the middle of daily work,” says Maria Torpo, Head of Sustainability & Quality at Aritco. “Writing the report helped us step back, reflect, and commit even more strongly to our goals.”
While this is the first such report for Aritco, the intention is to make it an annual initiative. Each edition will help measure progress against the baseline established in this report and guide the company toward long-term targets, including those set by its parent company, Innovalift, as part of its Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitment.

Three action areas: People, Environment, and How We Do Business
The report highlights three main areas of focus:
● People – Creating a workplace where individuals can thrive is central to Aritco’s vision. Since 2018, the company has partnered with Great Place To Work to evaluate and improve workplace culture. In 2024, Aritco achieved an 85% Trust Index score, with the ambition to reach 90%. Key initiatives this year include training all managers in Better Work Environment practices and continuing leadership “safety walks” to collaboratively identify and address workplace risks.
● Environment – A major milestone in 2024 was completing an emissions inventory covering Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. This provides a clear picture of Aritco’s environmental impact and a baseline for future reductions. Efforts are already underway to cut transport emissions, such as running the company’s delivery truck on HVO100 renewable fuel instead of diesel. Initiatives range from reducing printed materials to improving waste management, fostering a culture where sustainability is embedded in everyday decisions.
● How We Do Business – The company has established governance policies, set measurable targets, and integrated sustainability into every department’s annual planning. Work has also begun toward ISO 14001 (environment) and ISO 9001 (quality) certification, with a target of achieving both by the end of 2025
A collaborative effort
Creating the report was a team effort. The process involved close collaboration across departments, with contributions from the CEO, HR, and operations teams.
Maria highlights that documenting the company’s strategy has actually helped strengthen the strategy itself. “When you write down your vision and plans, you make them clearer and more actionable,” she explains. “And by sharing them publicly, you hold yourself accountable.”

Looking ahead
The publication of the sustainability report is just the beginning. Aritco plans to continue tracking and expanding its initiatives, with a focus on reducing emissions, improving workplace culture, and enhancing responsible business practices.
While the company has chosen a less formal reporting approach this year, the structure allows for evolution. Future reports may align with emerging EU sustainability reporting regulations, ensuring Aritco stays ahead of compliance requirements while maintaining its commitment to transparency.
As Maria sums it up: “We’re moving from vision and ambition to action. The real work happens every day, in every department, and this report is a way to show the progress we’ve made and the progress still to come.”
