5 Things You Did Not Know About Home Lifts

Lifts are one of the most misunderstood home appliances – here are a few things you probably did not know about them.

The mysterious lift

What most people know about lifts is limited to the facts that they have buttons and take you up or down floors. Of course, there are so many more things about these helpful appliances that are worth knowing and sharing.

Let’s have a look at five such things.

1) Lifts can look stunning

Long gone are the days of standardized metal boxes whose one and only purpose is to go up and down an elevator shaft. Today’s home lifts are highly customizable, have stunning glass shafts and doors, and a ton of spectacular design features.

The Aritco HomeLift was for instance created in collaboration with Alexander Lervik, one of Sweden’s top designers, and has won design awards around the world. The gorgeous lift presents as a piece of art, an essential element of interior decoration that homeowners often describe as the focal point in their homes

2) Lifts are safe

Contrary to the alternative of staircases, lifts are extraordinarily safe. It is easy to see how carrying a laptop or a couple of grocery bags up or down the stairs can quickly turn into a disaster. Envisioning the same disaster in a residential elevator is much harder, if not impossible.

While making sure that we do not slip and fall when moving up or down floors, Aritco lifts also ensure that even young children travel safely. All Aritco home lifts have sensors that make sure the doors are cleared before they can take off. They also require a button to be pressed for the lift to move. This makes Aritco lifts so safe that they are commonly used in schools and other places with a lot of children.

3) Lifts are quiet

Let’s be clear, there are certainly some noisy elevators out there. However, when it comes to Aritco’s platform lifts that are specifically manufactured for home environments, this is not an issue.

With a patented screw and nut-mechanism, Aritco lifts run smoothly and quietly up and down floors, keeping the peace even at nighttime when everything seems so much noisier.

4) Lifts are easy to install in an existing home

If you live in a multifloored home without a lift, it may be easy to think that you would need to tear down half the house to install a lift. After all, this is kind of true for traditional cabin lifts which require a machine room above the lift and a deep shaft pit underneath it.

A platform lift, however, functions without either of these and can quite easily be installed with very modest adaptation requirements. Feel like adding a lift between your bedroom and the laundry room beneath it? Get in touch with us and we will tell you how you can do so without requiring more space than a cabinet in each of the rooms would occupy.

5) Lifts are affordable

It used to be a fact that only wealthy people could afford residential elevators. Innovation and a growing market have made sure that this is a thing of the past and that an ever-increasing number of people can afford to elevate their home environments with a lift.

When building a new home, opting for an Aritco lift can in fact come at a smaller cost than building multiple flights of stairs. Not to mention the money you would save by futureproofing your home instead of having to rebuild it or move out once Father Time makes his presence known and weakens your ability to walk up or down stairs.

These are just a handful of the marvelous things we have to say about elevators. Feel free to browse through our assortment of home lifts and see if you can find a few more!inin
