Aritco Talk

Thursday 14 January 2021, 9.00-10.00 AM CET

How has Covid-19 pandemic pushed the development of a sustainable living?

The Covid pandemic has led to a fast forward of certain urban developments which are positive or inevitable, whilst at the same time slowing down progress we’ve made in other fields. Do we see reawakening of the cocooning where house, garden and my space of living is becoming more important in the future.

As we emerge into a post-pandemic world, is our striving for a sustainable future still within reach? Can it be aligned successfully with environmental goals as we endeavour to protect and preserve this planet we are privileged to call home?

Topics and speakers

Accelerated urbanism
The Covid pandemic has led to a fast forward of certain urban developments which are positive or inevitable, whilst at the same time slowing down progress we’ve made in other fields. Some urban changes will most likely stay with us because we have moved already in that direction. What will the urban planning heritage of the pandemic entail?

Jan Knikker, Partner MVRDV

The power in purpose
As we emerge into a post-pandemic world, is our striving for a sustainable future still within reach? With our health, wellbeing and safety taking precedence, can it be aligned successfully with environmental goals as we endeavour to protect and preserve this planet we are privileged to call home. As brands, business owners and consumers, it’s time to take individual responsibility and commit to real action. How can we be a part of the change and, as businesses, communicate that effectively?

Roddy Clarke, Design Journalist and Creative Director

Rewakening of the cocooning?
Alongside with the development of Covid-19 pandemic we see several changes in behaviour. People adjust to the situation of working and living in the same space which leads to a need of more space. A reawakening of the cocooning where house, garden and my space of living is important. Family is also becoming more important. Taking care of each other. Living in smaller groups helping each other cross generations. What does this mean for our future? Need of new solutions in our homes?

David Schill, Marketing Director, Aritco Lift

How is design and technology development influencing Aritco products and ways of thinking?
As a manufacturer of lifts for homes and commercial/public buildings we need to take the evolution of design and technology into consideration when developing our next generation of lifts. We also follow trends when it comes to living, how people want their homes and public places in the future. This is something that has been affected by the pandemic and that will have impact on construction of lifts in the near future.

Alexander Lervik, Designer and Petra Lind, Product Manager, Aritco Lift

The talk is moderated by Li Pamp – well known host for TV-shows in Sweden.
