The opportunity
CÉ LA VI London is situated on the 17th and 18th floors of the Renzo Piano-designed Paddington Square. One of the most architecturally significant buildings in the city, the venue is defined by bold design, panoramic skyline views, and a considered atmosphere throughout.
The building’s main lift brings guests to the restaurant’s main floor on level 17. But with the full experience spread across two floors, the team wanted everyone to be able to access the upper level and enjoy every part of what CÉ LA VI has to offer. That meant finding a lift that met accessibility regulations, could handle a technically demanding installation, and suited a space with uncompromising design standards.
The lift
The team at Innovate Lifts, an Aritco Certified Partner, recommended the Aritco PublicLift Access for the project. With a venue of this calibre, quality and the ability to customise the lift to the surrounding space were essential.
The lift was finished in a warm brown tone to complement the wooden frame around it, helping it fit naturally within the restaurant’s interior. Two glass walls open up a full view of the London cityscape as guests travel between floors, and the skyline DesignWall acts as an extension of the stunning urban panorama.
Despite the complicated conditions presented by a construction project at that height, the lift installation was completed in three days, only slightly longer than a standard installation.
The result
The lift seamlessly connects the restaurant’s main floor to its upper level, ensuring every guest can enjoy the full CÉ LA VI experience. Guests move between levels without disruption to the sophisticated ambience the restaurant is known for. In fact, a trip up in the Aritco lift, with breathtaking views of the London skyline, is an experience in itself at one of London’s most celebrated rooftop restaurants.
