HOW TO INSTALL AN ARITCO LIFT

Discover how Aritco ensures a smooth and safe installation process from start to finish.

Installing a home lift might feel like a big project. But with Aritco, the process is straightforward and stress-free. From the first site visit to the final safety checks, the focus is on making sure everything fits perfectly with your home and your needs. We spoke with Kristian Uusitalo, who works in customer and technical support at Aritco Sweden, to help you get a better understanding of the installation process, so you know exactly what to expect and can feel confident every step of the way.

Planning and Preparation

The process starts with a site visit, a crucial step to evaluate the property and ensure the lift can be installed quickly, efficiently, and—most importantly—safely. During this visit, the Aritco partner assesses key factors and determines if any modifications are needed. For instance, homes with wooden floors might require additional reinforcements at the fixation points—where the lift attaches to the structure—to ensure long-term stability.

Another vital part of preparation is assessing the available space. This includes measuring ceiling heights, evaluating the floor plan, and identifying potential obstructions. Once these details are clear, homeowners can collaborate with their Aritco certified partner to finalize specifics such as dimensions, door placement, lighting, flooring and other customization options.

Site readiness is the most important factor in ensuring a smooth installation process. Tasks like cutting floor openings and completing any necessary modifications must be finished before installation can begin. Aritco partners rely on a comprehensive checklist to make sure no detail is overlooked during the site visit and that all preparations are handled in advance. Kristian underscores the importance of addressing every concern early. “As much as possible, everything should be taken up in that meeting. There shouldn’t be leftover questions after that visit,” he advises.

Installation

The installation process typically takes three to five days, depending on the lift model and the layout of the property. Each day is carefully planned to ensure the lift is installed efficiently.

“On the first day, the team checks the site measurements to make sure everything matches the drawings,” explains Kristian. Once the measurements are confirmed, the team organizes materials for assembly— a step that Kristian says is key to keeping things on track. “You don’t want to have screws in one room and parts in another. Planning and sorting the materials is essential for a smooth workflow.”

The first phase focuses on assembling and securing the lift mast, which serves as the backbone of the system. “We install the mast, fix it in place, and then work on wiring to get the lift running,” Kristian shares. By the end of the first day, the goal is to have the lift platform operational.

The remaining days are spent assembling the walls of the lift, installing its doors, and adding finishing touches like the DesignWall, custom lighting, and other personalized features.

Safety and Training

Throughout the installation, safety is a top priority. Kristian noted, “The installers continuously go through a safety checklist to make sure everything is assembled to Aritco’s standards.” This meticulous approach ensures the lift operates smoothly and safely from day one. Once the lift is fully assembled, homeowners are given a thorough orientation to their new Aritco home lift.

When handled by Aritco-certified partners, installing a home lift is a quick and straightforward experience. As Kristian emphasized, “Proper site preparation and communication between the homeowner and the partner are key to making the process run smoothly.”
