Function, form and future-proofing with home lift

When building a dream house, it pays to think long-term.

When building a dream house, it pays to think long-term

After all, if you’ve gone through all the headaches and expense of building a home that’s just the way you want it, why would you ever want to move?

That’s what one of our customers, Tommy Forsell, was thinking when got his chance to achieve his dream. It’s a four-storey villa in a town near Stockholm. With all those floors, Tommy knew from the start that he wanted it to include a lift. “I wanted the house to be fully functional for a long time. I intend to grow old here,” he says.

Part of the architecture
For Tommy, it was also important that the lift would become a part of the house’s overall architecture and enhance the visual experience. After looking into the options, he decided he wanted an Aritco HomeLift.

Luckily for him, his architect, Pål Ross, includes a place for a lift in the designs of all of his villas nowadays – even when the client doesn’t want to put one in right away. Pål is also well known for his unique villas and fondness for curved shapes, exclusive materials and extensive use of glass. So our home lift, with its attention to design and the possibility of having glass on three sides, fit right in.

Ticking all the boxes
Tommy says that the convenient lift has become a big part of his day-to-day life. Anything heavy goes in the lift. “We have a four-storey house. It’s nice to be able to transport things that are going up to the roof terrace from the garage, or heavy grocery bags directly to the kitchen.”

Overall, he says, his Aritco HomeLift ticks all the boxes: Function, form and future-proofing. “The lift makes my life easier,” he says. “I am also pleased that it looks so nice. The lift gets a lot of attention when I have guests over. And I’m happy that I will be able to live in the house for a long time.”
