The opportunity
When a family of four began renovating their London home, they wanted to create a place where no one felt restricted. With two young children and parents visiting regularly from India, it was important that everyone could enjoy the whole house. As the home had not originally been built with accessibility in mind, the stairs were a clear barrier for their parents. Rather than working around that limitation, the family chose to address it during the renovation and design a home that would feel open and comfortable for every generation.
The lift
The family came across the Aritco HomeLift Compact during a visit to the Morgan Ellis showroom in London. They knew that bringing a lift into a private home meant introducing a large piece of mechanical equipment, so safety was essential, and it needed to be simple enough for both their children and their parents to use with confidence. Getting to try the lift beforehand helped ease their minds. And, combined with the ability to match the design to the style and size of their home, the Aritco HomeLift Compact was a clear choice.
The result
Six months after installation, the lift has made a significant difference to daily life. They use the lift for everyday activities from carrying shopping to handling luggage. But, most importantly, it provided the accessibility needed to bring her family closer together. “My mum now comes to stay more often. She can move freely between floors, spend time with the children, and feel independent. That’s made a huge difference to all of us,” the homeowner shared.
